this is the first weekend of the first week of the first job. haha. ive officially joined the filipino workforce! my first day was sorta anti climactic (to borrow kris' term of that day), since i found out that i had a free day after the new hires' orientation in makati. i went to that thing with kars, my friend and teammate, and we found out about the free day when we got into the ortigas office. o diba? in fairness di naman nalusaw ang excitement ko kasi hindi ako umuwi at nanggulo lang ako ng mga tao doon. what am i to do? i got no computer yet and my manager was scheduled to go out. after some time kars and i decided to hang out in the pantry because we were making too much noise in the work area...juest because we were trying to come up with a "provocative" end greeting for our email. hehehe. :)
anyway, i work for HP --- yup, Harry Potter, the boy who lived :) hehe. :p
kars introduced me to a number of people. aminado ako mahina ako sa mga pangalan. i guess it would take another round of intros before i manage to correctly match a name with the face. hehe :) HP's also been feeding us new hires a lot. isipin mo na lang kainan every 1.5 hours during orientation? oha! i felt like a patabaing baboy...you know, those pigs that are fattened up before getting themselves served as lechon. hmmm...
our team -- Total Order Management (aka TOM) had a meeting-lunch this week. whoa, more or less 35 pala kami, at mukhang madadagdagan pa. wala lang, its my first lunch out of my manager (or company?)'s expense hehe. opurtunista galore? di naman! haha!
yesterday was the HMO orientation, again for us new hires. masaya din pala magpahirap ng mga taga [insert HMO company here] sa orientation. their reps sure had to go through their own stress management program after speaking to some disgruntled, totally unsatisfied, and most of the time pilosopo customers aka us (or some of us). :) :) :)
everything's fine so far. after being exposed to gracie (another friend of mine) and teresa (comtech batchmate)'s stressful task on my first day there, i told myself that when that time comes for me...iisipin ko na lang pag nandyan na. hehe! :) :)
next week, we'll start with a 4-day condensed jumpstart seminar on...uh, i forgot. people from the office said that it used to be a 2-week seminar now cramped into 4 days. its gonna be from 9am to 6pm...so goodluck sa utak diba? lusawan na to! good thing ill be attending it with kars, at least i have someone to pass notes to when im bored. haha BI :)
anyway, another one of my dudes (di ko sure kung gusto niya ipa-broadcast kung sino siya eh) will be starting work on monday! wahoo!!! GOOD LUCK chong!!! resigned na tayo sa trabahong drayber!!! we're official taxpayers of this country!!! :)
