a lot of exciting things have been going on lately. i can finally say that ive adjsuted to my work sched. living near the office is really a huge factor. now i don't have to allocate around 2 hours for travel from suburban binangonan (wow rhyming!) to the ortigas CBD. it also helps that im beginning to develop friendships with the people im working with...syempre except kars and gracie who ive been friends with since college. hehe :) wow this feels like college dorm-ing...i rarely have time to watch TV because i always looked forward to lying down and sleeping after dinner. haha...now that's what 4 years without TV did to me. :) oh well, more on the exciting things...
:: my lovesick phase is beginning to fade. given the fact that i don't have anyone to consummate it with (awwww...is that a good thing? hmmmm...), i find it kinda sad to slip out of that state. being in love just feels so right. hehe. i was actually thinking about it the other day when i was listening to a copy of andy garcia's version of the famous Tonight I Can Write the Saddest Lines by pablo neruda. Loving is so short and forgetting is so long. ahh, that thing called love. maybe ill have more luck in the future. :) where is A.J when i need you??? wait, that's lust. :)
:: last saturday i got to play badminton again! it took me a company sportsfest to get into it again which made me realize just how rusty i was. the form and the power that i wholeheartedly trained for was so out of shape that if my former coach was watching, i would die of shame right there in the taraflex court. in my defense, i was out of the game for the most part of college! good thing is that my doubles partner and i agreed to a strategy that made us win the last two sets...we lost badly (10 pts!) in our first one so it was really a sweet victory. :) anyway, im ashamed to admit that i suffered an almost-crippling body ache for four days because of my stupid move of not cooling down after the game. to make matters worse, i am allergic to painkillers other than paracetamol and i didn't want to risk showing up in the office with a swollen face caused by taking ibuprofen or mefenamic acid. blech :p
:: im also psyched for my upcoming trip to the land of cows (and lord of the rings)...new zealand! this is my first international trip without any of my family in tow, hehe. the only other emotion that is greater than the excitement is the anxiety that comes with it. this is a business trip after all, and i expect truckloads of work to come crashing down when we touchdown in manila. with the very short timeframe that we have for our project, i will have to learn and apply everything at once. being a newbie in the IT industry makes it all the more scary. oh well. but then again, there's no use drowning in that. right now im looking forward to camwhoring sessions and traveling! yipee!!! maybe the 15-hour flight would be worth it. :)
:: another thing that excites me for this trip is my chance to see white, fluffy, meek-looking sheep. hehe. my friend ginny has "shattered" my dreams of these creatures, saying that they in fact are grey, stinky, and not-at-all cute...in the context of pollution-filled philippines anyway. now i will have to see for myself if my idealistic vision those goats (nyah?) really meets the eye. im even thinking of having one for myself...yeah, ok, im weird. :) the phenomenal black-and-white cows also come into mind. common pinoy cows are either brown, white, or black. monotonous hehe. :) now i will see if the birch tree or anchor milk can model cows are mere illusions. :)
:: while everyone else is excited, my lungs are the ones totally terrified about the trip. good luck to my ginawin self. weather reports say that new zealand temp ranges from 7-16 degrees celsius. we were advised by our counterparts there to bring warm clothes. waaaaaah. baguio pa nga lang sobrang tinatablan na ako. ano pa kaya dun? mother of goooooood! i sure hope i got all the warmth ill be needing (again, where are you A.J to provide this???). special thanks to the tropical eskimos (or eskimettes hehe) who guided me on my search for winter clothes that did not put a dent on my wallet too much. you know who you are. buti na lang eskimo kayo. next time pahiram naman ng igloo. :)
